The dark haired beauty hooked a denim jacket over her arm as she wore a pair of large sunglasses.
Later she was seen wearing a faux fur coat, exuding the glamour of an underground rocker girl.
While on set, Ritter tweeted excitedly: 'Shooting on the streets of NYC is my fave thing ever'.
She also posted a snap of her little godson visiting her during a break between takes on set.
In the adorable memento, Ritter can be seen rubbing noses with the youngster, with the caption: 'Little visit from my little godson.'
Asthma is the directorial debut of Dustin Hoffman's son Jake Hoffman.
The film centers on the indie rock scene in New York, focusing on the harrowing effects of drugs and late night partying.
Asthma co-stars, according to Deadline, Benedict Samuel, Christine Lahti and Albert Hammond Jr. Of The Strokes.
NBC has also purchased the upcoming television series My Parents Are Too F*** Happy from Ritter's production company Silent Machine Entertainment.
The show is a single-camera comedy about three family members traumatized by their parent's perfect marriage. The show will be written by Heather Hach.
Alongside producing the comedic series, Ritter also has the forthcoming Veronica Mars movie with her co-star Kristen Bell.
